OPI Designer...de Better!

Hello Fellow Nail Lovers!

I'm excited to show this one to you all eventhough I know in the past month, it's been seen numerous times.  I'm just in a very merry, holiday mood and this one makes me want to ring in 2012 and party down with my honey.

It's OPI's Designer...de Better! from the OPI Muppets collection.  It's a super silver shimmer with sprinkles of red glitter.
I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year!  I wish you all health, wealth, and luck.  Happy 2012!

Zoya Phoebe

Hey Everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas weekend.  If you had to go back to work today like me, I wish you the best.  If you had a three day weekend, LUCKY YOU!  Speaking of lucky, my sweet and amazing boyfriend got me an Ulta gift card for my stocking, and I just couldn't wait to use it.  When I left work today, I went to straight to my local Ulta, and what to my wondering eyes did appear?  A HUGE NAIL POLISH SALE!

I think I spent about an hour there just to buy 5 bottles, but I did pick up the last bottles of each Zoya Paz, Lolly, and Phoebe.  I really think matte polish is still my favorite trend and I will wear it till I die, and probably in this gorgeous blue creme.

Ya know, I always say how much I hate blue, but I own more blue polish than almost any other color, and I wear it all the time.  I guess I need to change my future statements.

What color do you own the most of?

Essie Wrapped in Rubies Revisited

Hello and Merry Christmas!

I hope you all had a wonderful day.  I spent some really great quality time with my boyfriend's and my family.  We ate a lot and laughed a lot.  That's my favorite part.

I wanted to reswatch Essie Wrapped in Rubies for three reasons.  The first time I swatched it, I was just starting out and had a terrible photo.  Second, I feel like it is a really great Christmas color and I GOT A NEW CAMERA!  I am so excited because I have been using a camera phone for the past year.

Wrapped in Rubies is a shimmery burgundy with a slight gold sheen.  Honestly it's not one of my favorites eventhough I feel like it looks great on me.  The formula is really great and opaque in two coats.

What was your holiday polish pick?

popBeauty Pink Glitz

Hey all you lovely ladies!

Today I have a pretty glitter for you.  It's popBeauty Pink Glitz that I layered over yesterday's manicure.  I thought they would be cute together.

Pink Glitz is a super sparkly pink and silver glitter with just a few red ones in there.  I feel like it's a perfect holiday polish.  Maybe even better for New Year's.

I'm not sure I like what I did here, but my middle and ring fingers are fully polished, and my pointer and pinky fingers are sponged on the tip.  I think it was a total fail, but at least you got to see this sparkly gem.

Ulta Wicked

So this is a polish that I love eventhough I hate pink.  Yes!  I said it.  I hate pink, but I do wear it on my nails and my lips.  I got this beauty in a free gift, and I'm not crazy about the formula, but after 3 coats it's fantastic.

Don't you love it?!  And the gloss is totally original.  This is with no top coat.  Have a great night!

Sally Hansen Emerald Express

Yo!

I've been noticing a lot of greens on the blogs these past two weeks so keeping with the holiday spirit, I wanted to share one of my favorites.

Sally Hansen Emerald Express is a gorgeous, almost metallic emerald green with a slight shimmer.  This is two effortless coats considering the super wide brush and fast drying formula.  Also please excuse the greasy fingers...cuticle oil.
I think out of all the Sally Hansen polishes, the Insta-dri is my favorite.  I am just way too impatient to wait and I usually end up smudging my nails before I even get to take a photo.  This one seriously dried to the touch in about 5 minutes.  And that's without a top coat.

Sinful Colors All About You

I just have a mini post today to compliment my mini Sinful Colors polish.  It's called All About You from the Fall 2009 Glitters collection.  I feel like it's so appropriate for holidays.  It is a gold shimmer with red glitter sprinkled throughout.

OPI Peach-a-Boo

Helloooo All!

I have been waiting for a sunny day to share this one with you.  OPI Peach-a-Boo is from the Summer 2008 Retro Fun in the Sun collection and is sadly now discontinued.  I'm really glad I was able to get my grubby hands on a bottle though.  And it has the Pro-Wide brush that makes the application super quick and easy.
It's a gorgeous, shimmery peach color with little pink sparkles.  It is a thin formula so this is 4 coats.  I think it would be a great layer rather than by its self.  Also the VNL is exposed, but that doesn't really bother me.

I would really LOVE to find the rest of this collection.  Especially Sit Under the Apple Tree and Lemonade Stand By Your Man.  Who hears Christmas bells?

An Apology with Love & Beauty Cherry Red

Hello Fellow Blogger!

First off, I want to apologize for falling off the face of the Earth, and not sharing all of the lovely polishes I've come across with you all.  As I've mentioned before, I work at Forever21, and my small store was being expanded from 5500sq/ft to 85000sq/ft.  Pretty large move right?  There was a lot of work that had to be done, and I was working overnight shifts for weeks at a time.  Thankfully it's done!  We've been open for a month now and everything has calmed down enough that I actually have time to myself.  That means time for NAILS!

With that said, I want to say thanks for sticking around.  Those of you that did.  Also I invite anyone else to come back at anytime and new bloggers to come and support me as well.

So what I have for you today is a Love & Beauty polish that I got a while ago.  It's a brilliant cherry red with small flakies in it.  It didn't photograph as well as I had hoped, but the color is still vibrant enough to catch anyone's attention.  Tell me what you think!

I know this one is not the best but it shows the flakies the best.

OPI Zom-body to Love

So just to start off, Halloween is my favorite holiday.  My birthday is one week before so that makes total sense right.  Seeing as how I love it so much, when all of the Halloween decor and costumes starts arriving in stores, I am all over it.  Especially when it comes to the cool nail polish sets that are introduced just like this little gem.  The duo is called "Pair 'em, Scare 'em" and it comes with a Black Shatter and a really cool glow in the dark green called Zom-body to Love.  Seriously I laugh everytime I say that.
Unfortunately my camera won't take a photo of it glowing in the dark but if you check out THIS post from My Simple Little Pleasures , you'll see what I'm talking about.

Have a happy, fun, and safe Halloween everyone.  I will be working so enjoy it for me.

Jesse's Girl All Things Girly and Stiletto

Sorry I have been gone for awhile.  Work has been really crazy getting ready for my new store opening on November 5.  However I did have time to swatch the last two polishes from the Jesse's Girl Julie G collection.

The first is Stiletto.  It is a taupe shimmer creme with an excellent formula.  I almost didn't need the second coat.
The last one is called All Things Girly.  It's a peachy salmon creme color.  I had a lot of compliments on it, but I'm not sure if I really liked it on myself.  The color is beautiful, but maybe not for me.
Sorry for the chips on my nails.  Like I said work has been crazy and I didn't anticipate them getting so torn up.

Enjoy your night bloggers!

Jesse's Girl Mermaid's Lagoon

Today I have Mermaid's Lagoon from the Julie G collection for Jesse's Girl.  This color is a teal creme with gold shimmer.
This is one of my faves from the entire collection mainly because I love the color but also that the gold doesn't take over the spotlight.  I would hate to have to black list a polish.

Jesse's Girl Fashion Friday and Party Dress

Just a quick post tonight ladies.  I've been running around a lot the past few days for work and am DEAD tired.  Fortunately I made enough time to change my polish and snap some photos of these gems from the Jesse's Girl Julie G collection.  I promise I'll get through them eventually.

The first is Fashion Friday.  I was really surprised that I was able to capture the true color with the first pic.  Usually with my patio lighting, my blues and purples don't come out well.
The next is Party Dress and I was only able to get one good shot of it.

Jesse's Girl Girl's Night Out

So here I am again with another beauty from the Jesse's Girl Julie G collection called Girl's Night Out.
This one is a gorgeous true blue creme that dries glossy just like Cupcake Frosting.  I'm not really a fan of blue, but I am really drawn to this color.  I can definitely appreciate it's beauty even if I don't wear it all the time.

Tell me what you think of Girl's Night Out.  Leave all your questions and comments below or email me at lacquerlover@hotmail.com.

Jesse's Girl Cupcake Frosting

Hello All!

Sorry I've been gone awhile, but I had a family reunion this past weekend.  I had a great time, and I received a huge surprise when I got there.

The second day we were there in Louisiana, we decided it would be fun to go to Natchitoches and take a walk on the river.  Before we even made it to the river, we happened to pass a Rite Aid.  We don't have Rite Aid in Houston so I was super excited to take a look inside.

As soon as I walked in the door, there it was.  The Jesse's Girl Julie G polish collection.  I was like a kid in a candy store and the colors certainly do look like candy.  I was able to purchase the entire collection with the exception of Beauty Guru.  They were out.  WAH!  So the first one I have to show you is Cupcake Frosting.
Cupcake Frosting is a gorgeous creme pink.  It dries very quickly and a little glossy, but I did add a Seche Vite top coat anyway.  Oh and sorry there is no sun photo.  There wasn't much for me to work with considering it stormed yesterday and was overcast today.  Maybe I can get one tomorrow before I take it off and it will be a little bonus.  We'll see.

Tomorrow I will show you another great color from the Julie G collection...Girl's Night Out.

So do you own any of the Jesse's Girl Julie G collection?  Do you watch Julie G on her YouTube channel?  What is your favorite color in the collection?  Leave your comments and questions below or feel free to email me at lacquerlover[at]hotmail[dot]com.

Sula Azure

Hey Blog Buddies!

So my NOTD is Azure by Sula.  I found this pretty little lady at Ulta and after passing it up at least 5 times, I finally decided to buy it.  The cool part is that it's a "paint and peel" polish.  It isn't meant to last for a week.  It was meant for people who love polish but hate the removal.  Otherwise called "too tired to try" like me. (:

The shade is a dusty teal that applies like a jelly and the reason for that is that it's water based.  That is what makes it so easy to peel off.  The downside is that it's very sensitive to hot water.  You have to be very cautious of what you do with your nails after you take a shower, do dishes, etc.

All the Sula polishes come with a Lasting Love top coat that you can reapply daily until you are ready to peel it all off.

I have to say, I have worn this polish 3 times already, and I love it.  The formula is really great and I love the finish.  And just as it's made to do, I love the fact that it just peels right off.  I don't even have to touch a bottle of remover or a cotton ball.  Now I can't wait to purchase more colors.

Do you own and Sula polishes?  What do you think of the "Paint and Peel" fad?

Sally Hansen Sequin Scandal

Just a quick post today my loves.

It is Sally Hansen's Sequin Scandal.  Probably my most favorite olive polish out of the ones I own.  It has the best brush, the best formula, and it's gorgeous.

So what do you think?  Is this your color?  Please leave your questions and comments below or email me at lacquerlover[at]hotmail[dot]com

I'm Ba-aaack! and with OPI DS Classic

Hello Ladies!

So what's been up?!  I know I've been gone for so long, but like I said before.  My computer has been out of commission and still is due to my boyfriend "borrowing" parts for his own.  I have really missed my blog, but I have been keeping up with everyone elses posts.  I have also continued photographing any new polishes I wear.  That means I have a lot in store for you all including my most favorite to date.

I am super excited to show you my very first Designer Series OPI polish.  OPI DS Classic is a gorgeous tan/nude tone with holographic micro-glitter throughout.
This is one of those colors that you could just die for.  It is so gorgeous that I wore it on my toes as well.  It didn't come off for WAY too long.  ew!

Sinful Colors Nail Junkie and a Franken

Hello Ladies!

Today I have a couple of simple swatches.  One is Sinful Colors Nail Junkie and the other is a franken I did trying to mimic Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers.  It didn't work if that's what you're wondering, however I'm still loving it.

I love all the different glitters in here.

Let me know what you think about this next one.  I still don't have a name for it.

I love how I tried to make it look like OPI. (:  Well it's not.  This is my franken.  The glitter I used was in a red jelly base so it really made the black creme interesting.

WHAT I USED:
1/4 bottle of Wet 'N' Wild Black Creme
3/4 bottle of Kleancolor Red-Hot

Ulta Material Girl

Today I have Material Girl by Ulta.  I love, love, love this color.  It is a rich fuschia shimmer with holographic glitter.  I'm in a real glittery mood lately, but this one ate all 4 (yes, 4) of my top coats like it was nobody's business.  However, I will definitely wear it again so check it out and tell me what you think.

This is the one where you can see the texture since it ate all my TCs.
shade
It's a little lighter then in the bottle but not too much.
Look at all that glittery goodness!
