Nail-Venturous Orange You Unique?

I figured since I've been drinking a TON of orange juice to get rid of this nasty cold, I might as well go all out and use my orange polish too.  This is not my first indie polish, but my second, however it is by far my favorite.  There aren't many other indies that I'm really interested in.  This was actually offered to me in a swap and when I looked up a swatch, I fell in love.  And would you believe that I hate, HATE orange?  lol I even have a very large, very bright orange handbag.
First of all, glitters are not my favorite types of polish in the world, but I love that this polish contains super small chunks.  I think the color combo is classic and the white really breaks it up so it doesn't look so "muddy".  That's the best way I can put it.  It almost reminds me of the scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original and not that shit-tastic remake) when Wonka transfers the giant bar of chocolate to the television set.  Remember all the tiny, brightly colored pixels at the top of the screen?  I'll just leave you all with that image in your heads!

OPI Just Spotted the Lizard

Yep!  This is the base color under my OPI Black Spotted!  The photo is not the best, but yesterday's post explains why that is.  Enjoy!
I love the flash from green to gold, and I LOVE the finish.  I don't have a lot of duo-chromes, but I'm glad I have this one.  It looks so good under the OPI Black Spotted.

OPI BLACK SPOTTED!!!

If you can't tell I'm excited by the title alone, then you must be blind.  I have been waiting for this baby since the day I first saw it.  I have a WONDERFUL friend who lives in France that offered to get it for me.  I ordered it from her some time at the end of June and she sent it out to me July 9th.  I JUST GOT IT TODAY.  It took forever (by no fault of hers I'm sure), but the important thing is that it's here and it's safe and sound in my Melmer.  Oh yeah and on my nails!!
I really hate that this photo is crappy, but I don't get home until 6 or 630 some nights, and then I have to make dinner and eat.  After that's all done and cleaned up, it's dark outside so I have to use my crap-tastic desk lamp from IKEA circa 1999-2000.  Also I am still very sick (terrible Summer cold) so this is the best I could do.  Oh yeah and work is killing my nails.  That was the only good thing about being unemployed was that I had some gorgeous nails IMO.  Oh and staying in my PJs all day wasn't bad either.  I do plan on swatching this again in the very near future so stay tuned.  I just had to post something (since I've been MIA) and I had to share it with you all.  It couldn't wait another day.

Check in tomorrow if you are wondering what base color I'm wearing.  It won't be a surprise because I'm sure you've seen it about a hundred times in the past month or so.  Can you guess what it is?  Leave your answers in the comments below.  I'm curious to see what y'all say.  Now I've got to drug myself and rest.

Summer Fun Challenge Day 8 - Fun in the Sun!

Oooh I'm a bad blogger.  Have you guys missed me?  Gosh I hope so.  So what's my excuse this time?  The same...work.  I had to be at work at 4am today and tomorrow and Wednesday, then 6am Thursday and Friday.  However, I get to come home at noon so that's awesome.
Day 8 is Fun in the Sun!  Bust out those bright colors and crazy patterns, anything goes today!  Well I hate it.  lol.

WHAT I USED:
Julep Hayden - 1 coat base color and orange dots
WnW 9021-Orange - 1 coat
Julep Courteney - green dots

I hate that this is so late, but I really think this week is going to be good for the blog.  I get home so early in the day and I'm not quite tired yet, so I may have a swatch party tomorrow!  Oh and I'm gonna try to get back into Water Marble Wednesday since this challenge is now over.  Thank you to Lindsey from Neverland Nail Blog for coming up with amazing and super fun challenges.  I'm so happy to be associated with her!  I hope I can say we're friends. *.*

Summer Fun Challenge Day 7 - Summer Stylin'

OMG you guys!  I am super excited about this mani.  This is the one I was most looking forward to.  I even planned it out from the very first day.
Day 7 is Summer Stylin'.  Create a mani inspired by your favorite piece of summer fashion!  Well mine is definitely my swimsuit.  I bought it at Forever 21 3 years ago, and it was love at first site when I saw it.
I was only able to buy the top because they didn't have my size in the bottoms, but I had to have it.  Now what I do is buy separate swim pieces that all coordinate together, so when I go swimming I can randomly pull one top and one bottom, and I know they already match.  Make sense?
Anyway, I loved the print and colors so much that I knew I wanted to use it for this mani.  I tried my very best to make it almost exact...

...and I think I did a pretty FANTASTIC job!  Don't ya think?  Ahhhhh!  I have no fingernails!!  JK! I know you see them, but they blend pretty well.
WHAT I USED:
Sally Hansen White Tip - 2 coats for base color
LA Colors Art Deco striper - black
Zoya Zuza - turquoise splatter
Sinful Colors Luminary - coral splatter

I am extremely pleased with this mani, and I don't even want to take it off.  I'm not even sure I'll be able to do Day 8 of the challenge until this one is completely destroyed.  Unfortunately, that will probably happen at work first thing in the morning.  Enjoy staring at this lovely mani and have a good night.

NYC Lincoln Square Lavender

Hope you all had a good and productive Monday.  I know that's usually far-fetched, but I did.  I was very sleepy, but I got a lot accomplished at work today, AND I didn't break or chip any nails like I usually do.  Since I'm super sleepy, I'm actually laying bed typing this so it's going to be really short.  I'll just show you the photos and you all can come up with your own opinion.  Leave your "review" below in the comments.  I'd love to read them.  (:
Have a good night.

Summer Challenge Day 6 - The Big Blue

This is WAAAAYYY late.  I mean I know the challenge rules say 2 times a week, but I like to keep up with everyone else and do my challenge posts on Tuesday and Thursday.  Honestly, work kicked my ass this week and by Wednesday morning, I was already ready for the week to be over.  It wasn't a bad week, just a long one.  But enough of that.  I'm at least keeping to the twice a week rule so here we go.
Day 6 is The Big Blue.  Make some waves with ocean or water nail art.  While I'm sure most bloggers would draw inspiration from beaches they live near or have been to, I could not.  I live near Galveston so if that were my inspiration, this post would be renamed "The Big Nasty", and the mani would be shit brown...that's all.  Just brown.  I hope that was a nice anecdote for you all.
My inspiration was simply tropical waters. (Oh yes, and Sarah from Chalkboard Nails' ruffle mani. )  Ya know those photos you see of crystal clear water that looks like the color turquoise?  Those are the waters I thought of.  Once when I was 12, we took a family vacation to Pensacola, Florida, and it was the most beautiful water I've ever seen.  We waded out up to our necks and looked down, and we were still able to see our feet and the "ocean" floor.  Gorgeous!
That is basically what the bf said when I showed him my nails.  He said, "Oh yeah.  That looks like the bottom of the ocean.  Nice, babe!"  So there you have it.  If he gets it, that's a mission accomplished.

Have a wonderful night and rest of your weekend.  *singing* "Happy nails to you..."

Summer Fun Challenge Day 5 - Are We There Yet?

Welcome to Day 5 of the Summer Fun Challenge.  We are getting so close to the end!!  I can't wait for you all to see this mani!
Day 5 is my favorite challenge so far.  Are We There Yet? - Show us your most creative road trip or vacation mani.  This one was very easy for me to come up with because if I could go anywhere for vacation right now, I would go to Hawaii!
I've never been anywhere amazing and tropical.  The most beautiful place I've been is Pensacola, Florida when I was 12.  It was just amazing, but I'd love to go to Hawaii or Tahiti.  I really wanna go to Greece!  However, I thought a tropical vacation made for a better mani.
I'm not crazy about my gradient, but eh!  Who cares because I love the rest of it.

WHAT I USED:
Jesse's Girl Julie G Mermaid's Lagoon - turquoise base color; 1 coat
popBeauty Violetta - fuschia
Sinful Colors Firefly - yellow
Kiss Nail Artist fine art pen in black for art

I really, really love this and can't wait to show it off.  Have a great day!

Lynnderella Sweets to the Sweet

OMG!!

So this is my one and only Lynn, and it was a huge lemming for me.  Just by bit of fate, a friend from a Facebook polish group asked if anyone wanted her extra bottle.  I was the first to see it, and the first to jump on it.
LOOK AT IT!!!  I layered 2 coats over 1 coat of Sally Hansen White Tip.  Everytime I brushed it on each nail, I got all excited when the colored glitter would pop up.  I was screaming, "OMG babe!  LOOK!!"  Ugh I just love all the white glitter too.  I just couldn't stop staring.

I just can't wait to wear it again with a different base color and see what comes out.  Yea for me finally getting it!  I decided to post this on a Monday to cheer everyone up.  I know Monday's always suck.  Oh and happy July!

NYC Classic Coral

Hey!!

I am super tired today so this might be a short post.  I went to a 10 Years show last night and was out until almost 2am, but I got to meet the band and get a picture with a shirtless lead singer...AWESOME!!  But anyway, today I want to show you another polish from the Adopt a Friend group I'm in on Facebook.
This is such a gorgeous, sparkle-y polish and I love it.  This is a shimmer packed coral that leans a little on the pink side.  I used 3 coats for this mani.  This is definitely a polish I think everyone should own and for only 99cents, I don't see why everyone already doesn't.

If you are interested in participating in the Adopt a Friend group on Facebook, you can let THIS GIRL know.  Her name is Ashley and she is super sweet for organizing this each month.  Maybe I'll get paired up with one of you.
