Girly Bits Twitterpated

If you read the title of this post I'm sure you're like, "Awww man!  Another purple polish?"  Well it's totally worth it and I can't wait any longer.  The swatches have been sitting on my desktop just staring at me in all their glory waiting to be shared with the world.  Well here we go!
Girly Bits Twitterpated is probably one of the most beautiful polishes I own.  Yes!  Out of my whole collection, this is one of my favorites without a doubt.  I used two coats for the swatches above.  Twitterpated is a lavender polish with a super linear holo.  I've only worn it one time (for the swatches) and can't believe I didn't open it sooner and I can't wait to wear it again.  I think this might be my new "go to" polish.  (:

What do you think about this beauty?  Does it give a little tug to your heartstrings?  Let me know in the comments below.

Super Perola Primeiro Amor

Since Spring is around the corner I guess it's time for me to break out my pastels.  I'm not a huge fan of pastels but this one is so pretty.  It was gifted to me and I thought I wouldn't like it but then I swatched it and completely changed my mind.
Super Perola Primeiro Amor is a Brazilian brand which actually reads Super Pearl First Love in English.  I think that name is so fitting.  It's a light lilac creme with a pearl finish and I only needed two coats.  I thought this would be super cute with a sunflower decal or some daisies painted over it, but I don't have sunflower decals and I didn't think about daisies until after the fact.

Have a wonderful night and I'll see you all tomorrow.

Zoya Purity

I was a little hesitant to post this one at first because I had some issues with the last white swatch I posted a long time ago.  It was China Glaze White on White and it turns out that my sloppy (and non-watermarked) photo is pretty popular around the internet for some reason.  It was stolen by another blogger claiming it to be her own and also eBay and Etsy sellers in which they photoshopped their nail decals on top of the white nail and then watermarked it with their shop name.  Can you believe I actually had to pull out legal documents on them?  All over a white nails, but it was my white nail so I fought for it.  Now that I have a watermark of my own I'm hoping these will stay safe on my page.
Zoya Purity is the best white polish I think I've ever owned.  I always love to have a white mani when it gets warmer outside.  I think it's like my way of ushering in the new season.  I used two coats of Purity for full opacity.  At first I thought it was a bit streaky, but as it dried it self-leveled which is always a great quality for cremes to have and you probably know how much I hate cremes.  They just never look good unless they self-level because, let's face it, no one is perfect at painting nails.  At least I know I'm not.

So hopefully no one will steal this photo too and I can blog peacefully.  Have a great night!  (:

Superficially Colorful Thermal Polish, Take 2

I am super excited for this post because I was not only lucky enough to get one surprise package from Jin of Superficially Colorful, but TWO!  She surprised me with four more of her amazing thermal polishes.  You can see the first set HERE.
First is Serene.  This is such a gorgeous color when it's cool and very, well...serene.  lol  It is a bright baby blue color with a little bit of shimmer.
This is Serene after it is warmed up.  It lightens up to a powder blue which is also gorgeous.  It's maybe not the best on my skin tone but I still love it.
Provocative is a darker red-toned purple and dries super quick.  It's also a one-coater if you are careful with your application.
This one also lightens up a bit under warm water to show off a beautiful red-violet color.
For someone that absolutely hates pink, I sure do love pink polish and this one is no stranger to the bunch.  Exalted is a super fun bubblegum pink with a bit of silver shimmer.
Just like Serene, Exalted lightens up to a powder pink (almost white) which is also not great on my skin tone but oh so fun.  I can't bear to NOT wear it.
Enthralled is a really pretty Coca-cola reddish-brown color.  It has some golden shimmer in it which is nice when the lights hits just right.
So I'm not sure if it's because I only used one coat for this swatch or if my camera is playing tricks but I've seen Enthralled a lot more red when it is warm.  HERE is a really great swatch from Smashley Sparkles where her's is more red.

I hope this post was as enjoyable as the last.  Now that I have eight of these thermals from Superficially Colorful I can't even pick a favorite.  What's yours?  Let me know in the comments below. (:

UPDATE:  If you are interested in purchasing any of Jin's amazing polishes, her shop will launch on March 3, 2014.  I'm not sure if the thermals will be available at first but she does make some other gorgeous one's to choose from.

Girly Bits Remember Aja

It has been a long week and weekend for me and I finally have time to get back to swatching and reviewing and hopefully getting inspired to do some nail art.  I reorganized my polish desk and feel like I can actually find things again.  I think that will help out with the motivation part of it.  I also found a long list of nail art ideas that I haven't done and wanted to try.  But today's post is strictly swatch.
This is Girly Bits Remember Aja.  I used two coats for full opacity.  This polish is a gorgeous purple holo that I apparently can't get enough of.  I have three purple holos made my Girly Bits alone and then about four more from other makers and mainstream brands.  I just love them, like, a lot.  But they are all different I swear.  ;)

If this is a polish you are interested in, you should definitely try to get your hands on it above all others.  You can purchase it on the Girly Bits website and $3.00 from every bottle sold goes to www.rememberaja.org to raise awareness of the dangers of "the choking game" and self-asphyxiation.  You can visit the site above to read more about Aja and "the choking game".

Sinful Enchanted

So I'm back from my mini break.  I just needed some time to do other things in my life.  I got to see my sister and she only lives 10 minutes away, but we've been so busy that we just don't get to spend them time together.  It was my 7 year anniversary with my boyfriend so we celebrated with The Walking Dead and nice juicy steak...for him anyway.  I'm a vegetarian but I will cook a steak for him.  ♥  I also have a lot going on at work so I just needed my down time to not be blog time.  Ya feel me?
Anyway this is not my best swatch but it's pretty good.  About 90% of the time I have issues with creme polish.  They just aren't my favorite but this color is too pretty to let that be a factor.  Sinful Enchanted is a blue-based purple creme that finishes super glossy.  It is self-leveling and I only needed two coats for full opacity.

There's not much else to say so I guess I'll be seeing you all tomorrow.  Night!

Gal-entine's Ombre

Today's mani is really just a re-creation of a mani I did two years ago for Valentine's.  I would link you back to it but unfortunately there are no photos anymore.  Somehow when that whole "link to Google+" stuff happened, almost all of my old blog photos were deleted.  Fortunately they can still be seen on my Facebook albums but it's just not the same.  Anyway, today is February 13, which means it's GALENTINE'S DAY!

If you are unfamiliar with this amazing holiday, you should really watch Parks and Rec.  It's basically just a day to show the love, not for the man in your life, but the women in your life.  Whether it's your mom or sisters or best friend, just give a little love today.
Just like with the original mani, I used most of the same colors.  These are all Jessie's Girl Julie G polishes.  On my pinky is All Things Girly.  My ring finger is Party Dress.  The middle is Frosted Cupcake and my pointer finger is Fashion Friday.  I almost left this as is but then it wouldn't be a re-creation.  If would just be unfinished.
After everything dried, I used striping tape to create v-shapes on all my fingers.  Then using Ulta High Roller, my favorite gold for nail art, I applied one generous coat inside the v and then removed the tape.

This is a super fun and easy mani to recreate and I love that the colors make is really girly.  Let me know what you think in the comments below.  Happy Galentine's Day!!
